FAQ's

1. Why should I pay for out of network PT?

Great question! Our answer: quality of care.

  • 1:1 care, 100% of the time: Every session is an hour with just you and your Doctor of Physical Therapy. You are not passed to a tech or an aide, and are not bounced around to see a new therapist every visit.

  • No insurance limitations: We are not restricted by authorizations or visit limits meaning we can start recovery sooner, and continue longer if that is what your body needs.

  • Better outcomes, less visits: Many outpatient clinics will see a patient 2-3 times a week. With a $50 copay, that can add up. The Rehab Lab sees patients once every 1-2 weeks. Since our care is more specialized and highly individualized, most patients recover in fewer visits, saving both time and money.

  • Transparent pricing: You always know what you owe. No surprise bills in the mail months later.

2. Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No referral is required for you to start therapy. This results in lower wait times between injury and getting you back to your favorite activities!

3. Do you take my insurance?

The Rehab Lab is an out-of-network, cash-based clinic, so we are not in-network with insurance agencies. We do offer courtesy billing, meaning we will send a "Superbill", including all the details of your therapy visits, to your insurance as an out-of-network provider. Depending on your insurance, it is possible you will be reimbursed for all or part of your session.

4. What is trigger point dry needling?

Trigger point dry needling is a treatment that trained healthcare professionals use for pain and movement issues associated with myofascial trigger points (or muscle "knots"). A thin, filiform needle is inserted into your muscle, in or near your trigger points. This stimulates your needles, and can cause them to contract or twitch, helping to relieve pain and range of motion. Dry needling is not a "cure all", and is best used as part of an overall pain management and treatment plan.

5. Why would I choose Injury Prevention Training instead of Physical Therapy?

Injury prevention training is for people who are currently pain-free, and want to improve mobility, strength, power, or just general fitness levels. A doctor of physical therapy and certified strength and conditioning specialist will perform a functional movement evaluation, identifying deficits in range of motion, strength, and motor control, that could lead to injuries down the road. Then, your Doctor will design a targeted treatment approach to improve these deficits. This is great for patients who do not need hands-on, manual therapy or dry needling, but want to work towards their fitness goals.
